Background

Robert Carter has served as FedEx CIO for more than 30 years and joined the company in 1993. He is also EVP, FedEx Information Services and Co-President & Co-CEO of FedEx Services. Carter guides the technology strategy for the applications and IT infrastructure powering all FedEx products.

Carter has driven FedEx’s continuous technology advancement over the last two decades. One of the most transformational initiatives was the company’s 10-year IT renewal program, leading to a fully cloud-native architecture. FedEx has launched several AI-powered products and solutions in the last few years, including an improved machine learning model used for predicting delivery times.
