Background
Prakash Kota, who initially joined Autodesk as a QA consultant in 2005, became CIO in 2018. Over the years, he progressed through various leadership positions in operations and IT before assuming his current role. As the CIO, Kota oversees the Enterprise Systems and Experience team, responsible for managing critical technology supporting the company’s IT platform for both employees and customers. Additionally, he plays a key role in driving Autodesk’s digital transformation.
Since taking on the CIO role in 2019, Kota has been a driving force in Autodesk''s transition to a subscription-based model. This shift necessitated continuous engagement with customers throughout their lifecycle and a focus on creating exceptional products tailored for real users. Under his leadership, Autodesk introduced programs to enhance the working experience for employees. Notable initiatives include the launch of The Employee Hub in 2021—a centralized information resource featuring "HelpBot," an AI-based virtual assistant designed to provide valuable answers to IT inquiries. In late 2023, Autodesk further expanded its technological capabilities with the introduction of Autodesk AI. This initiative brought new AI-powered features to the Design and Make Platform, including real-time predictive analysis for Autodesk Forma and Construction IQ for Autodesk Construction Cloud.
