Background

Jae Sook Evans is the CIO and EVP at Oracle, where she spearheads Oracle’s cloud transformation. Prior to joining Oracle in April 2020, she spent five years at Walmart in senior executive roles, overseeing eCommerce and infrastructure operations.

Since her tenure at Oracle began, Evans has successfully led enterprise transformation projects for both internal and external customers. Notably, in 2022, her teams migrated hundreds of essential applications for Oracle and its partners from data-center services to their own cloud platform. Oracle is introducing generative-AI-powered solutions aimed at enhancing the customer experience at the service level, without requiring additional technical expertise.

“With AI before, you’d have to have a set of data scientists, a set of AI experts, to be able to create the models and be able to use and develop AI […] While we still have that available on the infrastructure layer, what generative AI has done, along with some of the other abilities that we provide from an application standpoint, is make it easier for customers to adopt these AI services. It doesn’t necessarily require them to have all the depth of AI technology (knowledge) and all the development and all the models."
