Background
Greg Meyers joined Bristol Myers Squibb as Chief Digital and Technology Officer in 2022, after holding CIO roles at Syngenta and Motorola. At BMS, Meyers leads both the Information Technology function and digital tools that will empower scientists to drive better health outcomes for patients.
BMS has been using artificial intelligence for several years to drive drug discovery. However, Meyers also spearheaded new research experiments with the release of LLM and GenAI tools last year. According to a recent Forbes interview, Meyers has developed a three-pronged approach to using AI internally: developing a responsible AI policy, launching an internal ChatGPT tool to address data governance issues, and forming an AI Collective composed of practitioners from across the company. He and his teams have also launched internal trials with AI to scan thousands of documents for potential insights.
